My weapons of mass creation
Adobe Creative Cloud
I am a hardcore Adobe user. These were the first programs I acquired and learnt (apart from a brief period in Coral, but we'll skip that part). As a general rule of thumb, each Adobe program has a specific purpose and excels at certain tasks: Illustrator for vectors, InDesign for publications and Photoshop for pixels. Depending on the task, I choose accordingly. I usually end up using all three or a combination of two. However, these are the most basic tools in my toolbox.
I have also branched out into Adobe XD (experience design), After Effects and Premier Pro. Of the three, XD is by far the application I have spent the most time with. However, I have a good working knowledge of After Effects and Premier and am able to use them as well.
Other Applications
Outside of the Adobe CC environment, I am an avid user of Figma and Blender. Figma is a strong counterpart to Adobe's XD (as well as Sketch and others), I enjoy this application and do a lot of work in it. Blender is another favourite of mine, and while I have explored Adobe Dimension for 3D purposes, I have found Blender to be a step up and a total game changer for me. It's a very powerful program for 3D, animation and video and I've been spending a lot of time in it since I discovered it.
I have worked with world-class brands
Websites and CMS
I have used many CMS systems and platforms, some I like, some I don't. For the sake of simplicity, I will focus on the most popular ones. WordPress and WordPress Gutenberg, not a fan and I could write a novel about why, but I won't. Umbraco is another CMS I have used and found it to be quite solid and easy to work with. I'm not a developer, but I understand most of the terminology, having worked closely with developers for many years. However, I am a designer and marketer, so I prefer services like Squarespace, Webflow and the like (I have tried most of the services out there, but these two are my favourites so far).
Pen and Paper
I am practical and tactile and I draw a lot. I find that this is the first step in practically all my work and projects. It's easier for me to get thoughts and ideas out by drawing and writing.
